Class of 2015: Mary Ann Sgobba

What or who encouraged you to enroll in the program?

I’ve always wanted to obtain my master’s degree.  When I heard about the RU program I was happy to know that I could concentrate on a degree related to real estate.  Throughout my career I have the opportunity to take courses in all aspects of the real estate field except management. I  see myself in real estate or association management in my future and thought that it would greatly benefit my career path to have this degree.

What was your favorite thing about the program?

I truly enjoyed the program because I was able to do the course work at my own pace, yet I felt very involved and enjoyed the classroom environment through the required discussion posts.

How has this program helped you professionally?

While at this stage in my career I am not ready to take the step into management,  I know that when I am actively looking for a position, my Association Management Master’s degree will provide me with the education and confidence to make that career change.

Real estate professionals need to constantly learn and grow in order to stay competitive in this busy marketplace. Mary Ann is someone who knows the importance of education and has taken her knowledge and career to the next level by earning advanced degrees, certifications and designations. In addition to her MRE, Mary Ann has earned her ABR, GRI, RAA and Green designations.

Congratulations Mary Ann Sgobba of NJ Realty Center in Totowa, NJ!

A graduation ceremony will take place on May 15 at the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo in Washington, D.C.
