What is the general agreement between NAR and Columbia College? 

The National Association of REALTORS® has entered a partnership with Columbia College, Columbia, Missouri to create the NAR Academy at Columbia College. The NAR Academy will offer access and financial assistance to members in pursuit of stackable certificates, associates, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. 

 What will happen to REALTOR® University? 

 The NAR Academy at Columbia College marks the successful realization of the REALTOR® University vision. With the graduation of all active Master of Real Estate program students, and with the sharing of the curriculum with Columbia College, REALTOR® University will officially discontinue its master’s program, and provide opportunity for interested members to enroll in Columbia College as a member benefit.  Columbia College will become the exclusive higher-education partner for more than 1.3 million NAR members, providing opportunities for them to complete a variety of associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, including real estate-specific offerings anticipated in late spring 2020. For its planned master’s program with a real estate emphasis, Columbia College will build on the award-winning curriculum developed by REALTOR® University. The REALTOR® University curriculum and its associated intellectual property will be incorporated into the NAR Academy at Columbia College academic offerings. REALTOR® University alumni will become members of the NAR Academy Masters Society and can become members of the Columbia College Alumni Association. 

 How much did NAR invest in the development of the REALTOR® University? 

 REALTOR® University has been comprehensively funded through the association’s educational set aside in the Center for Specialized REALTOR® Education, with no financial dependence or connection to the NAR general fund or to member dues. 

 How many people received a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from REALTOR® University? 

 There are 75 NAR members who have graduated with a Master of Real Estate degree from REALTOR® University. Each REALTOR® University graduate will be automatically enrolled in a new NAR Masters Society to recognize their achievement and commitment to advancing themselves and their profession. Each graduate will also be invited to join the Columbia College Alumni Association as a lifetime member and to enjoy all the benefits therein. 

What are the options for graduate students currently enrolled in REALTOR® University? 

All active students enrolled in REALTOR® University will be afforded the opportunity to graduate.  

What are the exclusive member benefits provided REALTOR® University through the partnership with Columbia College? How do I learn more? 

 The Center for Specialized REALTOR® Education (CSRE) will offer NAR members $100 per every eligible course toward a business-related degree or certificate to members for tuition assistance.

The NAR and Columbia College agreement is a carefully constructed and mutually beneficial, revenue-sharing partnership. The NAR Academy will have the chance to market directly to members as the preferred higher education provider of NAR and will offer unique and unprecedented access to academic degree completion.
