In the latest installment of the REALTOR® University Speaker Series, Dr. Laurie Goodman, the Center Director for the Housing Finance Policy Center at the Urban Institute, shares her data-driven analysis on recent trends and issues on mortgage credit availability and the impact on homeownership, especially for first-time homebuyers.
The live Webinar took place on Monday, March 16, but if you were unable to attend or want to watch the presentation again it can be viewed on the realtor.org website.
Here are some highlights from the presentation and what you need to be aware of as a REALTOR®:
- Across all racial groups FICO scores are down
- On average, housing remains affordable, but varies by region
- Total household growth is projected at 11.6 million between 2010 and 2020
- In 2013 over 60% of new borrowers had FICO scores of 720 or higher
Thanks to all who participated and stay tuned for announcements on the next session of the Speaker Series!
