RU Going to NAR’s Annual Convention?


If you are going to be attending NAR’s Annual Convention and Expo in San Francisco, you may want to keep some special events in mind.

  •  First, on Saturday, November  9th, at 9:00am, REALTOR® University and the Center for Real Estate Studies will be presenting “Learn. Live. Lead: Life-Long Learning and Real Estate Success” in the Moscone Center, Gateway Ballroom 102. This high-level panel, moderated by Lawrence Yun, NAR SVP and Chief Economist, will highlight recently published research, sponsored by the Center for Real Estate Studies at REALTOR® University, on Educational Attainment and the Potential for REALTOR® Success, by Dr. Selma Hepp of the California Association of REALTORS® as well as recent results from NAR’s most recent Member Survey, presented by Jessica Lautz, Director of Member and Consumer Research at NAR. A lively discussion is sure to ensue as Dr. Yun engages Hugh F. Kelly, 2014 Chair of the Counselors of Real Estate and Professor at NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate and Lawrence A.  Souza, of Johnson Souza Group and Instructor at Golden Gate University on their views.
  • Second, on Sunday, November 10th, at 9:30am, join us for a Special Presentation by Professor Misayuki Nakagawa of Nihon University on “Understanding and Reshaping the Japanese Housing Market” in Moscone Center, Room 120.  Professor Nakagawa will be joined on the stage by Lawrence Yun in a discussion of recent trends in the Japanese housing market and lessons learned from the US and elsewhere. This presentation is jointly sponsored by The Center for Real Estate Studies at REALTOR® University and NAR’s Global Alliances team and is certain to pique your interest.
  • Finally, on Sunday Afternoon at 1:30pm, come down to the EXPO Hall and visit us in the vicinity of the NAR booth, where Peter C. Burley, Director of the Center for Real Estate Studies will take his turn at the mic for NAR Theater. In a quick 20-minute presentation, “Boomers, X’ers and Why?” Moscone Center, North Hall, Booth #5644, Peter will offer a glimpse into the Center for Real Estate Studies and highlight some of the research sponsored by the Center and published in the Journal of the Center for Real Estate Studies.
